Welcome Back!
Happy second week of the quarter! Hopefully you all had a great NSO week and are acclimating to life here at Stanford. The Disability Community Space (DisCo Space) held our Welcome Event on September 21st. It was wonderful meeting many of you there and we look forward to seeing many more of you in the coming weeks.
DisCo Space Hours of Operation
Thank you for your continued patience while we sort things out here at the DisCo Space. For the week of Monday, October 3- Friday, October 7, the DisCo Space open hours will be:
Monday, October 3: 2:00PM-4:00PM
Tuesday, October 4: 10:00AM-11:45AM; 1:30PM-6:00PM
Wednesday, October 5: 10:00AM-6:00PM
Thursday, October 6: 9:30AM-10:50AM
Friday, October 7: 10:00AM-3:30PM
National Disability Employment Awareness Month
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Observed annually, this is a time of year that celebrates the contributions that all workers with disabilities play in American society. This year, the US Department of Labor have established the theme to be, "Disability: Part of the Equity Equation."

Disability Community Space (DisCo) Assistant Coordinator
Calling all students who are eligible for federal work-study! The Office of Inclusion, Community, and Integrative Learning (ICIL) is seeking passionate and innovative students to join the DisCo Space team this academic year. The DisCo Student Assistant Coordinator collaborates with professional staff on various projects and maintains the DisCo Space to enhance the student experience. The DisCo Student Assistant Coordinators will work closely with the DisCo Space Program Coordinator.
The DisCo Space Assistant Coordinator will:
- Project manage ongoing programs that fall under the DisCo Space umbrella
- Serve as a member of the DisCo Space team by participating in supervision meetings and giving feedback on regular and ongoing programming
- Providing administrative support and. utilizing various tools to support the department such as Microsoft Office. Suites, Google Suite, email management, Canva, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
